Giving Thanks & Being Grateful The leaves are turning beautiful colors of orange, red and yellow and tumbling to the ground. The air is getting cooler and fireplaces are starting to roar…. Fall has settled in with winter on the cusp. As we roll into November, our back to school chaos is diminishing and our school routines are well established. It is now time to take a breath, and reflect on what we are grateful for in our lives and world. Challenge yourself to Change Your Mindset. Think of all you have to be grateful for and give thanks. Take this time to spread kindness to others. Make a difference in your life and others. In the words of CTC staff and students, I am thankful for… • “I am happy to come to my smart school.” • “Thank you to my parents for taking such good care of me.” • “Thank you to all the students who teach me everyday!” • “For being in my good school where people know true me.” CTC Connections website highlights many Ted talks which offer different speakers that will help us on our journey to be grateful and give thanks http://www.ted.com/playlists/206/give_thanks. David Steindl-Rast: Want to be happy? discusses how to be grateful and provides strategies to harness gratefulness through “Stop, Look and Go”. This strategy provides a change of consciousness that allows you a shift on your journey of thankfulness and gratitude. We are thankful to be on this journey with your family and thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow everyday with your children. “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend” by Melody Beattie
